Optimisation for audio is provided through the use of linear phase filters, and psychoacoustic noise shaping for truncated word lengths. The data rate is set by an internal clock, or may be synchronized with an external reference signal. Analogue input levels may be adjusted from the front of the module.
The AAC 614 is compatible with AES3 and AES-3ID.

The DAC 624 is a high-quality, 24-bit digital to analogue audio converter which allows conversion of four AES/EBU digital signals into four stereophonic analogue signals. Optimisation for audio conversion is provided through the use of digital interpolation filters and multibit sigma-delta modulators. This converter detects all audio word lengths ranging from 16-bit to 24-bit. Unused LSBs are erased before conversion. Digital de-emphasis is automatically processed when detected, according to the 50/15µs law. The DAC 624 is compatible with AES3 and AES-3ID.

The AAM 658 is an analogue audio mixer with 8 inputs. The AAM 658 distribution amplifier provides 8 outputs of the audio mixed signal. The AAM 658 used in the 19" 1U rackframe allows only the stand-alone mode without input/output extension possibilities. The AAM 658 used in the 19" 3U rackframe can be cascaded to mix up to 24 (3X8) monaural analogue audio signals or more. The AAM 658 selectable modes are: stand-alone, master, intermediate, slave.
